Two athletes raced in two triathlons in two time zones this weekend!
Jamie Levine headed to Mount Sterling, Ohio from her home state of Maryland to race in the Ohio Fall Challenge Triathlon on Sunday, September 25, 2022! Jamie has a really neat goal to do a triathlon in each of the 50 states, so this crossed Ohio off of her list!
This race was very adventurous. It started with a busy, congested swim. But Jamie settled in and swam steadily. Wind presented a challenge on the bike course. Thankfully, we’ve been incorporating some workouts into Jamie’s schedule that prepared her well for the efforts she had to put forth in those conditions. While out on the run, it was windy enough that the entire finish arch got blown over, along with all of the timing equipment!
Jamie reported that she felt the race went well and that she handled the adversity she was dealt on the course with grit and strength. She has so much to be proud of!
Way to go, Jamie!
Jennifer Pearce’s final triathlon of the season was the aptly-named Last Call Triathlon in Loveland, Colorado on Sunday, September 25, 2022!
We’ve been working on some technical aspects of swimming, biking, and running this year. Jennifer swam SIXTEEN PERCENT faster in this year’s Last Call Triathlon than she did in the same race in 2020! She also had a faster bike split than she had in 2020. Considering that she had such a strong bike and run, one might think that she was running out of gas by the end. Nope! Jennifer focused on her running economy and ultimately ran herself to second place in her age group!
Congratulations, Jennifer!
