Every year, it seems like there are new training options available to triathletes. This can make it very challenging for triathletes to decide which option is best for them. AI-generated training? Training Plans? Custom Training Plans? Personalized Coaching? No two coaches or coaching companies use the exact same language to describe different training options, which makes it even harder and more confusing for athletes to sort through their options and determine what might be the best choice for them.
We believe that true Triathlon Coaching is much, much more than following a series of workouts. True Triathlon Coaching is a very, very personalized service that takes a lot of things into account, including your training preferences, your experience level, your life schedule, your injury history, the goals you set, and any goal races you want to do. Your Triathlon Coach thoughtfully considers all of these elements as they craft your workouts and your unique training schedule.
When you hire a Triathlon Coach, you establish a relationship with an expert who cares as much about your goals as you do and who has the knowledge and skill to help you successfully reach your goals.
In the Internet Age, a lot of athletes feel that they don’t need to work with a coach because there is so much information about triathlon training available to them. It is true that there is more information available to triathletes than ever before about triathlon training. What is missing for most triathletes, however, is the knowledge and expertise to distill all of that information into an effective training plan.
Understanding which principles of training apply best to a specific individual, how to schedule workouts (especially relative to each other), what elements to plan within a specific workout, what to do, what not to do, how long workouts should be, what supplemental elements to include, and more can be very challenging (to say the least), if not downright overwhelming, even for triathletes who have been training and racing triathlons for a long time.
Enter a Triathlon Coach. A Triathlon Coach has the expertise and experience to take in the vast amount of information on triathlon training that is available and to distill it into knowledge. The best triathlon coaches determine which principles of training are best applied to you, your unique situation, and your unique goals. By leveraging their experience alongside the latest training science and research, your Triathlon Coach will be able to craft specific, safe, and effective training for you to reach your goals.
Whether you are looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle, to reduce your probability of injury, to finish your first triathlon, to qualify for the World Championships, to achieve a personal best time at a given triathlon distance, or to participate in a sport that means a lot to you, a caring and experienced Triathlon Coach can and will help you give yourself the highest probability of reaching your highest potential and your goals.
Our Triathlon Coaching service costs $250 per month with a one-time $100 start-up fee and includes the following:
Your training sessions will be delivered to you via Final Surge each week. By scheduling training one week at a time, your Triathlon Coach is able to review each of your workouts, analyze your workouts, communicate with you about how they are going, and then use all of that information to recommend the best training for you in the upcoming week.
This approach enables you to have training that is planned based on how things are actually going, rather than a (optimistic) prediction of how things will go in your life and in your training. This is one of the main features that distinguishes Triathlon Coaching from Triathlon Training Plans. As such, this level of personalization and communication is not possible with other forms of Training Plans. Your Triathlon Coach will review all of your completed workouts and Post-Workout Notes in Final Surge within 48 hours of when they are uploaded.
Your Triathlon Coach will be a partner and ally you can depend on. They will be as invested in your goals as you are, and will celebrate all of your accomplishments on your triathlon journey.
Full Circle Endurance welcomes triathletes of all experience levels, genders, backgrounds, and races. Whether you are seeking to finish your first triathlon or you are a very experienced triathlete, any athlete can work with a Triathlon Coach. Inquisitiveness, an eagerness to learn, and being willing to accept feedback are the primary qualities that help triathletes get the most out of their time working with a Triathlon Coach. We have coached triathletes who have sought to train for the following types of triathlons:
Coach Laura Henry is a full-time coach who has over 12 years of experience coaching triathletes and helping them to achieve the goals that they set for themselves. As an athlete herself, Coach Laura has trained for and raced every distance that triathlon offers, from the Sprint Triathlon Distance all the way up to the Full Distance (140.6 miles). During the first chapter of her professional life, Coach Laura worked a very demanding swing shift schedule while training for triathlons. As a result of that experience, she understands how to integrate training into a busy, time-limited, and variable schedule, and she leverages that experience to help other busy triathletes develop effective training that allows them to safely and successfully reach their goals.
Coach Laura is currently a USA Triathlon Level II Long Course and Level II Paratriathlon Certified Coach, USA Cycling Level 2 Certified Coach, VFS Certified Bike Fitter, and has successfully completed NASM’s Certified Personal Trainer course. She has coached triathletes at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has worked with athletes from a diverse array of backgrounds and experience levels. Her education, experience, and long history of working with triathletes has enabled her to coach triathletes of all ability levels to success, whether their goals have been to finish their first triathlon or to qualify for a World Championship.
