Sarah Grundy continued her return to multisport this season on Sunday, August 11, 2024 with the Max Performance Sharon Triathlon in Sharon, Massachusetts!
After a bit of a hiatus from all endurance racing, Sarah returned to multisport racing in June of this year when she raced at the Cohasset Triathlon. On Sunday, Sarah raced the sprint distance of the Max Performance Sharon Triathlon as her second race of the season. While the most important goals were the same as they were at the Cohasset Triathlon (to have fun and enjoy the experience), this time around, Sarah wanted to push herself a smidge more and execute a smart race.
After the race, Sarah told me that she “had a great race” and that she “felt better than she thought she would.” Before the race, Sarah and I had talked about which ratio of run/walk intervals to deploy on the run, and she was able to execute the plan we came up with very successfully, telling me afterwards that she “ran the run very smart”.
All in all, it was an excellent day of racing for Sarah. Congratulations!
