Each year, there are more cycling training options that flood the market. Which one is right for you? AI-generated training? Training Plans? Custom Training Plans? Personalized Coaching? All of these different options can make it difficult for cyclists to determine which one is going to be best for them. Adding to the confusion, no two coaches or two coaching companies use the same terms or language to describe their training options. This makes it nearly impossible for a cyclist to effectively weed through the available options and decide which one is most suitable for them.
At Full Circle Endurance, we believe that true Cycling Coaching is so much more than following a plan of workouts. True Cycling Coaching is a highly personalized service that accounts for a large number of elements, including your experience level, your training preferences, your personal schedule, your injury history, your goals, your goal races, and more. Your Cycling Coach uses all of these elements to thoughtfully plan your unique, personalized training and to make recommendations for you.
When you hire a Cycling Coach, you establish a working relationship with someone who is an expert in their field and who will be as deeply invested in your training and goals as you are. Your Cycling Coach has both the experience and the knowledge to help you achieve the goals you set for yourself.
In this Information and Internet Age, many athletes think that they can effectively coach themselves because there is such a vast amount of information about cycling training available to them. While it’s absolutely true that there is more information about cycling training available to cyclists than ever before, what is missing is the expertise to transform that information into knowledge.
A Cycling Coach has the experience and the education to be able to distill information about cycling training effectively into the knowledge about how these principles should be applied to individual cyclists. What to do, what not to do, which type of workout to plan, what the structure of the workout should be, what supportive training elements to include, how long workouts should be, and what the shape of an annual training plan should be are all things that cyclists - even very experienced cyclists! - may find to be challenging or impossible to effectively plan for themselves.
This is where a Cycling Coach comes in. A Cycling Coach does have the experience and expertise to sort through the seemingly endless amount of information out there about cycling training and to transform it into practical, effective knowledge that can be properly applied to you and your unique situation. They will leverage their experience alongside the latest training research and science to develop specific, practical training for you to help you accomplish your goals.
Whether you are seeking to lower your injury risk, to establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle, to finish your first cycling event, to fundraise and complete a charity ride, to complete a distance in cycling that is meaningful to you, to stand on top of the podium, or to achieve a personal best time at a given distance or event, working with an experienced and caring Cycling Coach will increase your probability of successfully reaching any and all goals you set for yourself.
Our Cycling Coaching service costs $250 per month with a one-time $100 start-up fee and includes the following:
Your workouts will be delivered via Final Surge to you each week. Planning training one week at a time allows your Cycling Coach to review each of your recent workouts, to analyze those workouts, to communicate with you about how your training is going, and then to harness all of that information as they plan your next week of training.
This personalized approach allows you to have training that is planned based on how things are actually going. By contrast, too many self-coached athletes have rather optimistic predictions of how things will go in training and in their lives. This - planning training based on how things are actually going - is one of the most important distinguishing features between Cycling Coaching and a Cycling Training Plan. Simply put, this level of personalization and communication is just not possible with other forms of Cycling Training Plans. Your Cycling Coach will review all of your completed workouts and Post-Workout Notes in Final Surge within 48 hours of when they are uploaded.
Your Cycling Coach will be a partner and supporter who you can count on. They will be as enthusiastic about your goals as you are, will cheer you on, and will celebrate all of your accomplishments with you.
Full Circle Endurance welcomes cyclists of all backgrounds, experience levels, races, and genders. Whether you are wanting to learn how to safely and effectively ride a bike or whether you are an experienced cyclist, any athlete can benefit from working with a Cycling Coach. Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to accept constructive feedback are the main qualities that help athletes get the most out of their working relationship with a Cycling Coach. We have coached cyclists who have sought to train for the following types of cycling events:
Coach Laura Henry is a full-time coach who has over 12 years of experience coaching cyclists and helping reach their goals. As an athlete herself, Coach Laura has trained for and raced many different cycling events, from off-road events to Century Rides. In the beginning of her professional life, Coach Laura worked a very long and demanding swing shift schedule while training for cycling events. As a result of that experience, she understands how to integrate training into a busy, time-limited, and variable schedule. She leverages that personal experience to help other busy cyclists develop practical and effective training that gives them the best chance of reaching their goals.
Coach Laura is currently a USA Cycling Level 2 Certified Coach, VFS Certified Bike Fitter, USA Triathlon Level II Long Course and Level II Paratriathlon Certified Coach, and has successfully completed NASM’s Certified Personal Trainer course. She has worked in multiple bike shops and has many years of experience as a Bike Fitter. Her education, experience, and long history of working with cyclists has enabled her to coach athletes of all ability levels to success, whether their goals have been to finish their first cycling race or to qualify for a National Championship.
